April 25, 2022 — On Thursday, April 21, the Employee Morale Committee awarded the April 2022 Above and Beyond Award to Suresh Thampi.
He was selected by the committee after the team in 6 West submitted a Bravo about him. Here is what they said:
“I want to THANK YOU for ALWAYS being supportive! Last Sunday, we were in a situation that called for immediate administrative support. After going through the proper channels, the charge nurse and I instantaneously said “call Suresh!” We knew you would know what to do. Working with You, if the situation calls for it, I know you would come to help us and make us feel safe in our decision making. You provide guidance that allowed us to keep our patients and staff safe. I cannot say it enough Suresh. THANK YOU! YOU ROCK BUDDY!”
Do you know a HMSL employee that should be recognized for going above and beyond? Here is a bit about how to nominate and what the committee is looking for:
- How does the committee receive nominations?
- Anyone can submit a nomination to the committee — employees, management, other departments, etc… and even the public!
- You can email HMSLEmployeeMoraleCommittee@houstonmethodist.org
- Bravos! You can access Bravos in the MARS dashboard. That is a primary way the committee finds nominees.
- Sometimes the committee will reach out to Department Managers
- What is the committee looking for in selecting an employee to celebrate?
- It can be how someone really went out of their way for our patients, or their families to ensuring that your coworkers had the support they needed to be able to have their lunch
- How often does the committee do the award?
- The award is presented once a month.
- In certain instances and nominations, more than one person is awarded in one month.
