The Power of Inclusion: Intentional Leadership for All Teams
The new Power of Inclusion: Intentional Leadership for All Teams course is part of HM Leadership and Learning’s Leadership Essentials program. The course is designed to give leaders (supervisors, managers, directors and above) insight into why embracing inclusive practices and equitable treatment is essential, not only to fostering a positive work environment, but also to improving patient outcomes and enhancing the overall quality of care. The course uses activities and real world scenarios intended to spark discussion and engagement and offer tips on implementing leadership practices that focus on equitable talent management. Leaders can learn the importance of cultivating a culture that ensures that all team members feel valued, respected and encouraged to contribute.
The Leadership Essentials Program is a comprehensive training program designed to equip our leaders with foundational leadership skills critical for guiding teams and driving organizational success. The courses are available virtually and in-person. Click HERE for more information and to register.
Honoring the Life of MLK
Houston methodist employees celebrated the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on January 20 through systemwide and campus-specific observances that included music, speakers and information on community service projects. Employee Resource Groups Are Booming
Membership in the 11 HM employee resource groups (ERGs) is growing rapidly. Why? They’re an informal and relaxed way to meet up with colleagues who share common interests or backgrounds or want to learn more about the cultural traditions of their co-workers.
The voluntary employee-created and led groups provide a safe, neutral space for employees and offer professional and personal development opportunities. Members may also participate in networking events and community involvement activities.
Employees across the system can join any ERG they identify with or would like to learn more about and support. You can also start a new group!
To find out what all the excitement is about, text “ERG” to 45991, scan the QR code below or contact Nazia Imrose at nimrose2@houstonmethodist.org.
