Build Stronger Connections
Find out why it’s important to look beyond appearances to create more meaningful connections. The “Just By Looking at Me” group activity allows team members the opportunity to learn more about each individual on the team through a 10-15 minute activity. This activity and others are available in the DEI Toolkit.
60th Anniversary of Civil Rights Act
The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson on July 2, 1964. The legislation ended segregation in public places and banned employment discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex or national origin and is considered one of the landmark legislative achievements of the civil rights movement. Initially proposed by President John F. Kennedy in 1963, the U.S. congress expanded the act by passing additional civil rights legislation, such as the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and the Fair Housing Act of 1968.
