Coming Soon: 3rd Annual ERG Symposium
The 2024 ERG symposium will be held on Friday, Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon at The Westin (1709 Dryden Rd., Houston, 77030) and explores how ERGs are impacting the employee experience and driving meaningful change. Keynote speaker Shona Pinnock, vice president, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for Peloton, will discuss her passion for creating workplaces that meet the needs of an evolving workforce. A leader in corporate DEI strategy development and implementation, Pinnock previously served as VP of Diversity and Inclusion for Louis Vuitton North America, publishing giant Meredith Corp. and Consumer Reports.

Celebrating Our Culture & Heritage!
We hope you enjoyed the month-long activities coordinated by the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) to celebrate October’s designation as Global Diversity Awareness Month. Thank you for participating in the weekly activities and events intended to give every employee the opportunity to celebrate and share their unique heritage. We hope they provided an enjoyable way to highlight our individuality and connectedness! The link to the updated “Around the World Cookbook” featuring new dietary tags and special recognition for winners in the Culinary Contest will be available in next week’s DEI Corner.
Learn More About the 2025 Summer Scholars Program
Join us on Thursday, Nov. 7 from 6 to 7 p.m. for an information session for the 2025 Houston Methodist Summer Scholars Program Administered by the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI). During the session, you will learn more about the program structure, application process and benefits for participants. CLICK HERE to register for the session.
The application period for the 2025 program begins on Dec. 2, 2024 and runs through Jan. 1, 2025. The program will be held from May 27 – Aug. 1, 2025 and is a 10-week experience open to rising undergraduate junior and senior students. The full-time (40 hours per week) program gives students interested in pursuing careers in health care hands-on experience in non-clinical departments across Houston Methodist.
