The month-long schedule of weekly themed activities and events coordinated by the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion to celebrate October’s designation as Global Diversity Awareness Month continues with This week’s (Oct. 7-11) activity:
Houston Methodist Family Photo Album
Submit photos of family cultural celebrations to be considered for inclusion in a systemwide photo album. Submit your photos for the album HERE. The submission deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, October 10.

Roots and Routes. Explore an interactive map with fascinating facts about regions across the globe.
Coming the week of Oct. 28-31:
Cultural Cuisine (Oct. 28-31) gives you the opportunity to discover the revised “Around the World Cookbook” featuring new dietary tags and special recognition for our Culinary Contest winners. Stay tuned for entity-specific Culinary Contest date and time information.

Exploring Cultural Musical Traditions
Please join us on Oct. 30 when the Spiritual Diversity Series explores the profound connections between music and spirituality during the “Sacred Music” discussion from noon to 1 p.m. in Houston Methodist Willowbrook’s Swadesh Khurana Healing Garden. The panelists, Dr. Chad Brawle, (The Luke Church), Pandit Suman Ghosh (Center for Indian Classical Music), Salim S. Jaffer (Islamic Arts Society) and Cantor Rollin Simmons (Congregation Emanu El), will delve into the spiritual and cultural dimensions of Christian, Jewish, Hindu and Islamic musical traditions.
