DEI Learning Series Encourages Awareness
Cinthia Mora, practice manager, Houston Methodist Primary Care Group-Sweetwater in Sugar Land, shares her thoughts following her team’s completion of a recent Recognizing the Impact of Microaggressions learning course:
“I had requested to have my team take the class together to gain a better understanding of each other and to have more awareness of how some comments may not mean much to some but may mean a lot to others. I am glad we did and I would highly recommend that other employees take the class! It was great and helped my team develop more self-awareness, become more understanding and able to see how others may interpret comments from their co-workers differently.”

Veterans Honors POW/MIA Soldiers
The Veterans Alliance employee resource group (ERG) will host informational displays honoring U.S. prisoners of war (POW) and missing in action (MIA) soldiers at locations systemwide on Monday, Sept. 16. The tradition of setting a separate table decorated with special symbols in honor of prisoners of war (POW) and missing in action (MIA) service members began near the end of the Vietnam War as a way to remember the sacrifice of soldiers who do not return home from war.
