Congratulations to Ebone Jones from 6W on being the 31st Daisy Award winner. Read the stories about why she was nominated below.
My husband was admitted to Houston Methodist Sugar Land on May 7, 2021 to the 6th floor and she was his nurse the entire hospital stay. She went above and beyond every day, her bedside manors are excellent. Her care and individual attention she gave was outstanding. We appreciate the kindness and care my husband received.
Many of our concerns these days, when being admitted as inpatient is who will my nurse be? And more importantly, please dear Lord let them be kind and patient in these trying/painful/difficult times. From many past experiences from myself, mother, friends, etc. The experiences have not been great. Which leads me to my next statement. She is the epitome of a care giver! Her spirit exudes kindness, love, compassion, patience understanding and the list goes on. She exceeded every expectation one could have. I kept seeing on the monitors in the ER and on my way up to being admitted as inpatient, these company core values, it read I CARE. She displayed her integrity by being honest and ethical. The compassion in her is what greeted me as soon as she opened the door. She was beyond respectful not only to me but to other staff members; you can tell that they all have great rapports. And saying her services was excellent is an understanding. There is no adjective to describe her actions. God bless you.
The experience of care that I have received from our nurse has touched my heart for the rest of my life. I was admitted for fetal demise and experiencing physical and emotional pain. From the moment she introduced herself she cared for me from her heart with the highest level of professionalism and excellence. She made me feel comfortable and secure I the care I was receiving. She kept me informed and every need met. Not only physical, but emotionally. She made me feel seen and well cared for in a valued person.
She was outstanding as a nurse. She was very knowledgeable about everything. We are so happy to have met her. She truly made us feel like family.
Lord, I don’t know where to start, I’m crying and writing. Your encouragement, positivity really brightened my day and also your act of kindness made me feel welcome and comfortable. I want to let everyone know that I will never forget this hospital. Little did she know I was in a dark place with my health and the words you let out of your mouth gave me confidence to not give up. Keep pushing! Thanks, I’m going to enjoy this new chapter!
She is absolutely wonderful! She has gone above and beyond in making sure that I am well taken care of. She has all the qualities a nurse should have and I am thankful for her. I feel that God placed her here because he knew she was exactly who I needed to take care of me. During this difficult time. I will forever be thankful. Thank you for everything.
When she entered the room, she had a warm smile and disposition. She introduced herself to my daughter and I prior to performing her assessment. She was extremely knowledgeable and skilled. However, what stood out was her compassion. I was at my worst; urinating blood, fresh post-op severe pain and in addition to that I had a severe allergic reaction to MS04. I could hear her comforting words as I found myself slipping away. She comforted me through working with others to save my lfe. I am a DNP, MSN, RN, AGNP_C that has fought and worked with nurses for many years. She stands out among the best of them and every patient is blessed to have her as their nurse. Their chance of ultimate compassionate care is a given. Thank you for caring, you are indeed an extraordinary nurse.
