Magnet hospitals maintain a strong community presence with a variety of ongoing, long-term outreach programs. These outreach programs result in the hospital being perceived as a strong, positive, and productive corporate citizen.
During 2017, Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital partnered with Fort Bend County to provide a weight management seminar; heart health screening; colorectal seminar; back and neck pain seminar; stroke or heart attack risk; pregnancy seminar; joint pain seminar; diabetes education seminar; cancer survivorship program showcase; flu shot clinic and community toy drive; tobacco cessation seminar; student sports physicals; high school football game sports coverage; student trainer scholarships; thriving through creative arts; and national breastfeeding month activities.
