November 11, 2019: Magnet Thanks and Giving was awesome! It was rewarding to see staff engaged in learning about Magnet and focusing on how a benefit mindset will help us achieve a higher standard of excellence. Here are some stats from the event:
Fifteen patients and family members, 53 nurses, and 65 interprofessional staff participated.
There were 5 booths featuring the 5 Magnet Domains, Transformational Leadership, Structural Empowerment, Exemplary Professional Practice, New Knowledge, Innovations & Improvements, and Empirical Outcomes. The Magnet Thanks and Giving Planning committee outdid themselves ensuring everyone had a great time while learning.
A huge thank you to GE for demonstrating innovation and the Encompass Realtime Location Service (RTLS).
We collected 368 eyeglasses for the Lions Club and 491 canned protein goods for Second Mile and needy Fort Bend County families.
Here is a list of our top three HMSL heavy hitters for eyeglasses & canned goods donations:
- Main 4 West – donated 87 eyeglasses
- Operating room – donated 64 eyeglasses
- Volunteers – donated 27 eyeglasses
- Case Management donated 91 canned goods
- Volunteers donated 78 canned goods
- Main 4 West donated 54 canned goods
I’m grateful for each person at HMSL and wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving season.
