Click to download printable pdf.

The HMSL Safety Committee has approved the new “DESIGNATED HYDRATION AREA” signage for immediate use. The purpose of the signage is to designate a safe area in a direct patient care location where staff, including physicians, may consume beverages such as water or coffee for hydration in accordance with OSHA regulations – standards 29 CFR 1910.1030 Bloodborne Pathogens.

The designated hydration area allows for consumption of beverages in a container secured with a lid at all times. Consumption of food IS NOT allowed in the designated hydration area. The newly approved signage can be found on the intranet at http://www.tmh.tmc.edu/sugarland/security/Hydration_Station_signage.pdf

Please remove any previous signage posted and replace with this approved version.
