Four employees from each of the service lines (Ambulatory Surgery, Emergency Department, Inpatient Services and Outpatient Services) have been named as a “Star of the Month” in recognition for their commitment to our patients and I CARE values. These employees have been selected based on outstanding patient comments and feedback received. Each month we will alternate between featuring employees who received exceptional recognition from one of our various surveys (NRC Survey, RealTime, CONNECT Discharge Phone Calls, MyRounding) and employees who have been noted as going above and beyond through feedback from the Service Quality team and Guest Relations rounds.
We are excited to showcase and recognize the amazing hard work that our employees deliver to our patients on a daily basis. Thank you for being a part of our journey to unparalleled.
Elissa Cantu, RN, Cath Lab – Ambulatory Surgery
“The family had lots of questions and she answered all of them. This helped to put the family at ease. She took time to talk to them which made all the difference because they were being asked to sign forms and when she stopped and took the time to explain and talk to them, they felt valued.”
Jose Quintana, Paramedic/EMT – Emergency Department
“Jose was very courteous and respectful throughout his patient’s visit. She (the patient) said when she arrived she was anxious and nervous and her blood pressure was in the 220’s and Jose encouraged her to relax and he dimmed the lights. She explained that each time she needed to use the restroom Jose would come quickly and before entering the room he would knock and wait for her consent. Additionally, she said that her daughter came for a few hours and had a lot of questions and Jose patiently answered them all.”
Anna Arthur, RN Interventional Radiology – Outpatient
“I want to express my appreciation for the extra service Anna Arthur extended to me after having a port put in. I had to go to the Cancer Center next door for a radiation treatment. When we could not get transportation, she wheeled me over there herself. She claimed it was no big deal, but meant a lot to me. She was a great nurse during my whole procedure. She is a wonderful person and I am so thankful for her.”
Noe Aguilera, Transporter – Inpatient
“The patient said that when Noe came to pick her up, she mentioned to him that she is a queen and should be taken down in her bed (she was joking with him). She said that when they arrived to the Cat Scan, Noe brought her a blue surgery cap and showed her how it could be worn as a crown for the queen. He said he could not give her a ride in the bed as she requested, but wanted to get her a crown. The patient actually put the cap on and showed the Service Quality Specialist how she was wearing it last night! She was extremely touched by what Noe had done, and she said it really personalized things for her.”
