Four employees from each of the service lines (Ambulatory Surgery, Emergency Department, Inpatient Services and Outpatient Services) have been named as a “Star of the Month” in recognition for their commitment to our patients and I CARE values. These employees have been selected based on outstanding patient comments and feedback received. Each month we will alternate between featuring employees who received exceptional recognition from one of our various surveys (NRC Survey, RealTime, CONNECT Discharge Phone Calls, MyRounding) and employees who have been noted as going above and beyond through feedback from the Service Quality team and Guest Relations rounds.
We are excited to showcase and recognize the amazing hard work that our employees deliver to our patients on a daily basis. Thank you for being a part of our journey to unparalleled.
Bobbi Jo Fink, RN – Ambulatory Surgery
A patient drew a picture of Bobbi Fink doing one of her favorite things, mowing the grass. The patient was very complimentary of all staff but Bobbi in particular. The patient stated that Bobbi had gone over and above to make him feel comfortable and ensured he was receiving appropriate care.
This person came into the office as a new patient and stated she felt nausea, headache, and was shaky. Fink evaluated this patient in the lobby and spent well over 20 minutes assessing and communicating with the patient and physician to ensure the patient had appropriate treatment. Bobbi took into consideration the patient’s immediate health needs and patient preference to be seen in the wound care center prior to seeking treatment for elevated blood pressure in the ER. Bobbi was incredibly accommodating and put the patient’s needs first.
Another patient stated she looks forward to seeing Bobbi. Bobbi is always friendly, personable, and she feels like Bobbi cares for her on a personal level. As Bobbi’s manager, I’ve witnessed her interactions with this patient and was truly impressed by the special relationship/bond Bobbi has built with this patient in such a short amount of time.
Rogelio (Don) Espinosa, RN – Emergency Department
A patient stated, “Since I walked in, I was in a lot of pain and Don was very soothing, calming, super sweet, provided me blankets, and was just really gentle with me. He did not rush and understood I was in a lot of pain. He was gentle in doing my IV, blood pressure, and bloodwork. I always tell everyone if you have to go to an ER, you have to go to Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. I have been there before and it is always great.”
Another patient said, “Don was very sweet and patient taking care of me.”
Qin Chen, Ultrasound Technologist – Outpatient
” I had a very successful experience with my visit to Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital to have an ultrasound test. The ultrasound technician, Qin, was very professional in explaining what was going to happen and how she was going to do the test. Qin did her job excellently,” said one patient.
“I had an ultrasound procedure in January performed by a lady technician by the name of ‘Qin’. She was very courteous and professional. She answered all of my questions without hesitation and in a very professional manner. I would like to thank Houston Methodist Sugar Land and Qin for the ease with which the procedure and administrative paperwork and duties were handled,” said another patient.
Marina Molina, PCA – Inpatient
A patient called the guest relations office because she wanted to give kudos about PCA, Marina Molina. This patient wanted to let administration know what her impression was about Marina. The patient said Marina needs to be a trainer for the whole hospital, not just for PCAs. She has empathy for people, kept her room clean and took the food tray out when she was done, without the patient even asking. She is pure, genuine, natural, just amazing! If the hospital ever loses her, they would have a great loss.
