I am pleased to announce the promotion of Candy Salazar, MSN, RN, NE-BC, CPAN from Nurse Manager to Director of Endoscopy Services. In her new role, Candy will gain additional responsibility for the Endoscopy Ambulatory Surgery Center located in Medical Office Building 4.
Candy has been with Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital as a nurse manager since September 2015. She came to HMSL from New York Presbyterian Hospital and Mount Sinai Medical Center where she gained expertise in the Cardio-Thoracic ICU and Post Anesthesia Care Units.
Currently, Candy has served professionally as 2nd Vice President of the Texas Association of Perianesthesia Nurses: Upper Gulf Coast Region and has been published in the Journal of Nursing Education and Practice. She serves as a member of the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) and is a peer reviewer for Gastroenterology Nursing, the official journal of Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates. She is currently a Ph.D. student at Texas Woman’s University.
