A nurse scientist at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital has earned national recognition. Deltra Muoki, PhD, APRN, AGNP-C, CMSRN, CNE, NE-BC, was just appointed to the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses’ (AMSN) Digital Content Committee. There are only eight members across the country on this committee.
AMSN is the only professional nursing organization for medical-surgical nurses in the United States. AMSN recently launched a digital content platform entitled the “Medical-Surgical Monitor” which allows content to be easily and rapidly disseminated in a digital format focusing on the specialty of medical-surgical nursing. The Medical-Surgical Monitor includes short pieces, blogs, spotlights, podcasts and the upcoming launch of a new medical-surgical nursing professional journal.
Deltra will be sourcing and reviewing resources and information for publication through a subject-matter-expert lens via this national platform. This provides an opportunity to share the work of our nursing leaders and frontline staff in medical-surgical nursing. This is not limited to quality improvement, evidence-based practice and research projects. You can submit content about clinical care, professional concepts, podcast ideas, etc.
If you are interested in submitting content for publication, or have questions, please reach out to Deltra. Her email is dmuoki@houstonmethodist.org. She is also available to attend your huddles to discuss any nursing projects.
