Let Your Spirit Soar

Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital hosted a Drive-Thru Cancer Survivors Day Celebration on Friday, June 4, and celebrated 196 survivors.

The hummingbird-themed event, titled “Let Your Spirit Soar,” took the place of our annual large gathering due to the COVID-19 pandemic, yet still allowed us to honor survivors and caregivers.

Attendees received a bag with an inspirational book, coloring page and colored pencils, mask and hand sanitizer, along with resources for survivors and a hummingbird cookie to remind them to “let their spirits soar.” Survivors also enjoyed uplifting music by musicians from the Houston Methodist Center for Performing Arts Medicine.
