International Project Management Day
November 3 is International Project Management Day, which recognizes the impact that project managers have on team dynamics and project outcomes. Our HMSL-based project directors, managers and specialists support our leadership team on a variety of strategies and initiatives. They work with stakeholders across the hospital to develop and execute project plans that ensure we meet our targets. HMSL appreciates our amazing project management team members who serve our hospital in a variety of administrative and clinical areas. Thank you for all that you do!
Support Services Week
During the week of November 6 – 12 we recognize the individuals that work in Patient Transportation and Bed Management in Support Services Week.
The Patient Transportation Department ensures that our patients are transported safely and efficiently throughout the facility. Our department at HMSL has more than 40 staff members.
The Bed Management Department ensures that all of our incoming patients receive a bed assignment in a timely manner, therefore receiving the highest quality of care in the appropriate care setting at the right time. While a small department of only five employees, our patients would not flow through the care journey without them.
Medical Staff Services Week
In 1992, President George Bush signed Congressional House Joint Resolution #399 proclaiming the first full week in November as National Medical Staff Services Awareness Week to promote awareness of the medical services professional (MSP) and their importance in protecting our patients, our providers and our hospital. There are new names and faces on the HMSL Medical Staff Services team, and you can read about them here.
Nurse Practitioner Week
National Nurse Practitioner Week runs November 13 – 19 and recognizes all of wonderful NPs in the health care field. According to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, “NPs are on the front lines of health care delivery, working to address social determinants of health, achieve health equity and increase access to health care for patients.” Thank you for all you do!
