On May 7, Houston Methodist made video visits more convenient than ever through Houston Methodist Virtual Care. Houston Methodist has partnered with Amwell (American Well), an established provider in telehealth, to expand and enhance its existing video visit service. Visits through Houston Methodist Virtual Care will be free through 2018 for employees and family members insured through the Houston Methodist Medical Plan. Simply use the coupon code when it’s time for your visit. It’s the same number as the Group Number on your Houston Methodist insurance card (found in the right corner). Employees and their family members not insured through Houston Methodist are welcome to use the service, too, at a cost of $50 per visit.
You will now be able see a provider 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on-demand.
Employees are encouraged to download the free Houston Methodist Virtual Care app to their smartphone via the IOS or Android app stores. Enroll for the service before you get sick so you can quickly access video visits when you need them.
You will no longer have to call to make an appointment as you will access a provider via the app. Houston Methodist providers or Online Care Group from Amwell will be available to you without an appointment any time day or night. You can expect the same high quality clinical expertise and excellent patient experience from all providers.
