HMSL is excited to welcome two interns for the spring semester. Read more about them and their work below and please give them a warm welcome as you see them.
Jim Nantz – Operations Intern
I was born and raised in Houston and am completing the master’s in health care administration program at Texas State University. When I was an undergraduate student at Texas A&M University working towards my bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences, I was lucky to shadow some staff members at the Houston Methodist West Hospital. During that time, I was able to interact with patients, observe surgeries, and see what many members of the involved staff were responsible for and how they could contribute to a patient’s outcomes. This experience was one of many that led me to realize my interest in healthcare administration, and I hope to continue to learn more about it every day as I progress through my career and interact with other healthcare professionals. My hobbies include enjoying the outdoors, exercising, working on my 1993 Toyota Land Cruiser, and enjoying time with family and friends now that I’m back home!
Jennifer Ibarra – Strategic Partnerships Intern
I was born and raised in McAllen and attend Texas State University. As a first-generation college student, every step is a proud milestone. Outside of work, you will catch me hiking trails or hanging out with my cat, Jinx. Excitement is an understatement for the internship opportunity ahead. As I step into this internship role, I’ll admit there’s a mix of nerves and excitement in the air. However, I’m ready to bring my passion and dedication, and I am eager to contribute, learn, and thrive in this dynamic setting. I can’t wait to meet and collaborate with everyone!
